More “Top Ten” … This Week … Top Ten Healthcare Industry Issues for 2013 …

Recently PwC’s Health Research Institute released the “top ten” healthcare industry issues for 2013. Two of the issues (population health and pharma) remain from the 2012 list. The number one issue on this year’s list is states on the frontlines of the Affordable Healthcare Act. Other concerns on the list include caring for the nation’s most vulnerable: dual eligible and consumer revolution in health care. Please check out the complete list (http://www.pwc.com/us/tophealthissues) … it is quite interesting. Healthcare Leaders Media recently published an article discussing the issues on the 2013 list (http://www.healthleadersmedia.com/page-2/LED-288182/PwC-Names-Top-Health-Issues-of-2013). Things to watch include population health remaining a focus because of more collaboration between insurers and providers as well as changing consumer behaviors and the medical device tax. The healthcare industry is changing. Be on the lookout for other Top Ten “Up and Coming” lists.
